How will I learn Mindfulness?
I have nearly 20 years experience practicing mindfulness and over 10 years teaching mindfulness to individuals and groups. Mindfulness can be practiced in many different ways and you don’t need hours a day to learn it. In fact, some practices take just a few minutes. Mindfulness decreases depression and stress and improves concentration, and these are just a few of the benefits mindfulness offers.
If you are interested in learning more about mindfulness, I will suggest practices suited to your learning style and lifestyle. You will learn what mindfulness is by experiencing it. We’ll talk about the myths and truths about mindfulness practice and I’ll help you identify and address some common barriers to setting up a practice. We will practice in session and I’ll offer you a recording of each practice we do, which you can use whenever you like.
The good news is that there are so many mindfulness books, CD’s, podcasts, and other resources out there. But with the number of options it can be overwhelming to decide what you need. Who are the best teachers for you? Which books will speak to you? What style of meditation is right for you? I’ll help you sort through the options and find what fits best.
